Privacy notice

For the LingoLearn website and waitlist. Effective date: October 25, 2026

Draft for the owner to review. This text was written to be plain and honest about what the website does today. It is not legal advice and has not been checked by a lawyer. Fill in the highlighted [placeholders], have it reviewed, then remove this box.

Who we are

LingoLearn is run by Amir Moradi, an individual operating in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].

What this notice covers

This website (lingolearn.site) and its waitlist form. The LingoLearn phone app is not released yet; when it is, it has its own privacy notice, shown in the app before you create an account. It covers accounts, the books you upload and the AI services that process them. The short version of that notice: your books and courses are private to your account, we show no ads, we do not sell your data and we do not use your books to train any model.

What we collect when you join the waitlist

WhatWhy
Your email addressTo tell you when LingoLearn opens, and to answer you if you write to us.
The language you are learning (only if you choose one)To understand which languages matter most to the people waiting.
The language of the page you used (English or Farsi) and a label for the form (“site”)To write to you in the right language and to know which form you used.
When you joinedTo keep the list in order and to delete old entries.
A hash of your internet (IP) addressTo limit how often one connection can use the form and to spot abuse. We keep the address only in scrambled form (a keyed hash that we cannot turn back into the address); we never store the plain address with your entry.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to us.

What we do with it

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove it, or until 12 months after LingoLearn opens, whichever is first.

What the website itself does

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent, by writing from the address you used to [email protected]. We will remove your entry and confirm. If you think we handled your data wrongly, you can contact the data-protection authority where you live (in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada).

Children

The website and waitlist are for adults. Please do not join if you are a child without a parent or guardian.

Changes

If we change this notice in an important way, we will say so on this page and, if we hold your email, tell you before the change applies to you.
